Facebook just turned the News Feed into a topic aggregator made by your friends
Facebook just did something very, very big - it changed your News Feed from a single friend talking about something to multiple friends discussing the same topic.
It's hard to judge off the bat how big of a change this could be (or how well Facebook's algorithms will be) but on the face of it, this could be huge news - if this is done correctly, this could make Twitter's Trending Topics look like child's play.
That said, Facebook in a tweet says that "some of your News Feed stories" - again, it will be interesting to see which ones that includes [update: Inside Facebook has it figured out - it's related to existing Pages, which, in a Facebook way, makes perfect sense. However, it would be even more impactful if Facebook could link it to some kind of search feature].
